Why an AMD APU?
AMD is the cpu of choice for its support of coreboot and open documentation. There are a few Intel laptop chipsets and cpus supported by coreboot but all that work was provided mainly by Google. We really don’t have the time or desire to spend porting coreboot for a Chromebook to a different laptop design with docs that are nearly impossible for anyone to obtain.
